Wishing my artist Beenie Man all the best. He always seem to land on his feet no matter what the circumstances and I have no doubt that he will do the same despite his many setbacks this year alone. As long as he is being true to God, his art and his life all will be well. It saddens me however that as Jamaicans we find it so easy to bad mouth and bad mind each other despite the fact that we may like or dislike each other. I think fellow artists who manage to use Beenie's setbacks as a talking point on their records are setting the bar extremely low for future artists, and the entire nation.
Despite Beenie's reputation of being a trouble maker I think any of us who are fans of dancehall music and who are proud Jamaicans should lend our prayers and support to any of our fellow Jamaicans who find themselves in trying times. Though it saddens me I am not disappointed because I think we are among the least unified and most bad minded people on the planet. We need to walk in a spirit of love and unity because if we don't we will not survive much longer there are people plotting our (Black People) destruction as we speak and all we do is sit around and create new reasons to divide, belittle, discourage, and kill each other. It is so very very sad but perhaps it is destiny ... The greatest people or civilizations never die because of outsiders they tend to crumble from within. Slavery could not eradicate us. Prejudice and racial injustice can't get rid of us. Drugs and Crime and we still here but our own self hatred and lack of unity will do the trick believe me. Big up to all Jamaicans who support other Jamaicans making us proud despite their political and religious affiliations. and despite where we come, or wether they are our favorite artists or not. As long as you are doing a positive deed that would reflect positively on your country we must try our best to be supportive,respectful and show love no matter who it is.
