Steele to Pay Tribute to Peter Tosh with Other Artistes

By: Alan Lewin

steele_tosh.jpgThe annual tribute to the late great singer Peter Tosh who was a member of The Wailers is set for Independence Park in Savanna-La-Mar, Westmoreland. The event will be held on October 19, 2007 and there will be no admission fee since artistes will be contributing their services free of cost.

Of notable interest is the appearance of Jamaican born Canadian based singer Steele who will also fly in from Canada specifically for the show. "I am glad to be a part of this show, as when I was a kid growing up, I was a fan of Peter Tosh, so I have to thank Promoter Worrel King for the opportunity to showcase my ability in my home land." Said Steele who has been honoured with several Canadian Music Awards.

Two of his most popular songs are "What's Wrong With We," a combination with George Nooks and "Silhouettes," a cover version.

Others down to appear on the show are Luciano, Bushman, Blendah, Etana, Leroy Sibbles, Dezi Boyd, Iley Dread, Rated R, Hero, X Factor, Edge Michael, Lil Joe, Aaron Silk, Jah Mason, Smokie Benz, Mackie Conscious, Ginjah, Iyah Blaze, Edi Fitzroy and Lymie Murray. Music will be provided by Melody One.
