Kemar Thompson (JR. Pinchers) opens the purple door
Kemar Thompson (Jr. Pinchers) has recently released Purple Door, his 4th single from his upcoming album True Story. Purple Door is an outlaw ballad about a man who observes his neighbour being mistreated by her boyfriend. When her life is threatened, he makes the decision to protect her and murders her lover, thus becoming an outlaw on the run. Jr. Pinchers' manager and producer, Rachel Bernard, produced Purple Door for Royal Concert Productions.
Having received a favourable response from his last single Unfaithful Lover, released earlier this year, Kemar is on a winning streak. Ron Muschette described Unfaithful Lover as the most requested single on Irie FM so far for 2007. The video for that track, directed by Rachel Bernard, also did well on local entertainment cable stations Hype TV & RE TV.
The 24-year-old Kemar Thompson, son of veteran dancehall artiste Pinchers, spent his youth growing up around his father's studio and was influenced greatly by the talent that surrounded him in the Jamaican music business. Eventually, Kemar came into his own as an artist and began writing songs. Making his recording debut 10 years ago with the single Blaze Up Di Fire, Kemar went on to record songs for popular producers such as Sheldon 'Cali Bud' Stewart, King Jammys, and Young Bloodz.
Plans are already underway for a video to be made for Purple Door, while Kemar's debut album, True Story, is set for a fall 2007 release. A album promotional tour that will take Kemar to the US and Europe is also on the horizon.
