Movado and crew reprimanded and fined in Barbadian court
 Movado and his crew were slapped with fines totaling $700 by Magistrate Christopher Birch, in the Bridgetown Traffic Court, following a brawl between members of his entourage and Barbadian group. Super Sounds.
Surrounded by his injured security team, the 20 year old Movado stuck to his side of the story, dismissing the Barbadians' claim that he had made and reneged on a deal to produce dub plates for them.
Movado, whose real name is, David Constantine Brooks, along with fellow Jamaicans, Sammer Coombs, entertainer and businessmen Michael Kevin Marsh and David Joseph Hunter were read the riot act by the Magistrate who was appalled at their raucous behavior that put others in harms way. The men on trial admitted using excessive forceful and unlawful violence, causing others to fear for their safety in a public place.
On July 1, the Jamaican entertainment team became involved in fist and stone throwing at the Time Out Hotel in Christ Church after angry Super Sounds members approached them about an alleged $1800 dub plate deal gone bad.
Movado described the sequence of events, saying that he was only in Barbados to promote himself as an artist, and while signing autographs and interacting with fans, the dub plate request was made, but only informally. No concrete deal was arranged with Super Sounds of Barbados, he said. So when his cousin came complaining that "a yute" had approached him in a way like he wanted to hold on to him, Movado went out to check on the situation.
Then the "yutes" rushed Movado and his cousin, Coombs, interceded, pushing off the aggressor, and the whole mayhem ensued. Coombs admitted assaulting Jimal Edwards, causing him actual bodily harm.
"Was all of this necessary?" asked Magistrate Christopher Birch. "All
of this over music? I thought music was supposed to unite people.
Michael Lashley, who represented the Jamaicans, appealed to the court for leniency, saying, "I ask that you impose a fine or you can give them a very strong warning." In his view, the incident was unfortunate, since Movado missed schedule shows on Wednesday as a result of missing his flight out of Barbados.
The bottle and missile throwing caused hotel guests to scamper. Seven people were charged and the Barbadians involved will return to court on October 29, 2007.

i was in barbados for the show so let me tell all of you peeps what went down mavado took money to do dub plates and never done them so the sound came to the hotel for there money back he did't want t give them so they took it back.
im not saying that was the right way to go about it but mavado done this in barbados before 2 shows he never turned up to plus the other shows in st.lucia and st.vincent you cant be taking promoters money and not turn up because they will catch upto you at some time badman is only bad at home not in other islands
he should have just given back the money or do the plates not take people for fool he is lucky he got away with his life if he was in trinidad they would have kidnapped his ass
