Skerrit explodes around the world
 Skerrit Bwoy released his documentary, "Temporary Sanity" – a Dan Brunn film, on June 29, 2007, at the 10th Annual RAI Film Festival in England. The versatile disc jockey burst on the international dancehall scene this year, with his sound system Ghetto Life that he has molded into becoming an award winning sound that was crowned as 2005 - 2006 "Bronx Sound of The Year."
Playing venues in Antigua, Barbuda, St. Kitts, Jamaica, Anguilla, Montserrat, Germany, Canada, and a host of other countries this year, has changed this young man's view on not only entertainment, but on life overall. "Short Black an' Ugly" is how Skerrit introduces himself, and he is set to becoming the voice of the Bronx.
Originally from St. Johns, Antigua, the youngster migrated to Bronx, New York in the mid 1990's. Clubbing at a very young age, and hanging out on Creston Avenue, it did not take him long to fit into the fast pace life of the city. "I remember listening to Ricky Trooper on Killaman Jaro sound and saying to myself... Yo! That's gonna be me! I used to ride my bike to Moodies Records on 225th Street, all the way from 183rd, just to buy 3 records a week...cause those days I was just getting a weekly $10 allowance ".
His father Shats Man, pleased with the course his son was taking, encouraged him by purchasing club equipment, and dub plates. In December 2000, the "likkle bwoy dem," consisting of Skerrit Bwoy, Robbie Steele and Jr. Dread, reigned supreme in the Bronx Youth Clash. Wining the title, and have continued to prevail ever since. This was only the first of many more trophies that will be placed on the Ghetto Life mantle in years to come.
Skerrit spoke of his motivation to continue and excel in the sound business, saying, "Trying to change a person's, even your brother's, view about what life can be is an almost impossible task. Now picture trying to change the views of hundreds, or thousands of people you never met in a few hours. That's my job! I take the people that I deejay, dance, sing, and shed sweat for, out of their every day stress. I want to take dem to a place of bliss, a place of ecstasy. When I entertain, I don't want no one to think 'bout their bills, or their job, or their troubles. I'm gonna have you laughing, singing, dancing, and shedding as much sweat as myself. It's such a good feeling to finish a show, walk outside and hear people on their cell phones saying what a good time they've had, imitating my moves, or just shaking my hand. It gives me a sense of accomplishment."
This pride in his art is a special winning quality of Skerrit's, and coupled with his vibrant animated spirit, it has led him to being very much in demand these days. He has been featured in a wide array of media. Among some of these are: the Japanese video game "SWAGGER" as the main character. As a model in the Jamaican Street magazine, Back a Yard (Issue 6). Such DVDs as: Who is Baddest on the Dance Floor: Vol. 1 (Japan), I.R.T. Riddimz (New York), & Lyric DVD Magazine (Canada).

We LOVE SKERRIT! He is FUN, LOVIN, SELFLESS as well as an ENTERTAINER. Unlike other DJs, Skerrit seperates himself from the fame and hype of being one, and not just ANY DJ, He is internationally known (for his antiks lol) and it is our pleasure to know him as a close friend. He was the first one to give us 'a lil 15mins of fame" so to speak at his Birthday party last year 3/25/06...and we've been around and well respected ever since.
SKERRIT is the first DJ we've seen in our age group that knows almost all his fans on a personal level. He runs the Bronx and has a lot of love and respect for everyone...especially US (PD Ladies aka Skerrit Girls), his favorite Girls! :)

I've known Skerrit for quite a few years now. And I will never forget the first time I ever saw him perform, I was in AWE! Such a BIG voice coming from such a little person. It was pure madness when he took the microphone. All the girls in the club started screaming and calling his name, I wondered what the hype was all about but then he opened his mouth ... I've been a DIE HARD fan ever since. He is an excellent entertainer, the Pied Piper of his profession. Bless Up, Skerrit.

Yo I dont know where to start when it comes to my friend, and future husband Skerrit....lol. When im home and a get ready for bed and recieve a text message or phone call that tells me that Skerrit is going to be somewhere I have to be there. Skerrit is such a talented young man. The energy and creativity this man exudes is incredible. This man will run from every inch of the club and put on ah show like it's nothing. What more can I say about that mental patient! lol Skerrit is known to many as that crazy, loud little boy with the colorful mohawk but to many people that party with him and know him personally he's alot more than that. I remember him from way back when in elementary school, that baldheaded boy that could never keep still in class, making music by banging on the desks just to form a crowd and get a hype which he always did. I always knew he had potential to be more than just a class clown. Skerrit came a long way just by being the person he is. Unlike many people thats in the spotlight and never want to share their shine Skerrit Bwoy is always willing to buss someone new, he is a people person. When your around him u could never be down because no matter what, he always says or does something to put a smile on your face. There could never be another Skerrit he's just "Different" in so many ways. Whenever I feel the need to eleviate stress I just go where he's partying or call him up his energy makes you live for today because you never know what tomorrow will bring!! Skerrit is an AMAZIN entertainer. He knows how to set a vibe and and keep it. He's always on top his music bringing us the latest in dancehall.He keeps the crowd moving at any cost even,if he has to jump from behind the DJ both to get in and dance with the crowd.He will do it. Plus you can't miss him. From the moment he steps in the room you can hear his "worlds famous" call known all over the city of New York by fans just waiting to see what he's going to do next.And if that doesn't get you. You absolutly can't miss the red,orange,and Canari yellow hair. When i say Skerrit is Great at what he does that would just be an understatement.Cause he Is outsanding in every way possible. and that is the TRUTH.

I remember the first time I seen Skerrit in person. It was at DanceFest 2006 at Wild Palms in the Bronx and my gawd was I in just complete awe when he came to the floor. Even after he danced I couldn't take my eyes off of him and I just told myself that I want to see this boy more. So for almost two years now I travel at least once a week, for an hour ride, to attend a party I know he gonna play at. Skerrit is an enigma. There's no one like him nor will there ever be. He's one of a kind and like I always told you Skerrit "YOU GONNA BE FAMOUS!" In many ways you already are! LOVE YOU!!
