Etana – "can't water down or dilute"
Fresh off the success of her enchanting yet gritty smash single "Wrong Address" the soulful Reggae songstress Etana is once more resonating from radio airwaves with another justified and unapologetic song entitled Roots As with her previous spring 2006 release which garnered praise and heavy rotation from both radio & party disc jocks, Etana seeks to captivate listeners with this work that highlights her strong vocal presence.
The direction of the new track is very clear and deliberate and speaks to a common emotion present in all of us. A firm meditation is the message of what can be described as a credible reggae sound credited to producer Steven Stanley with instrumental contributions from the great Sly & Robby.

Etana's Roots has a thought provoking hook that easily pulls mass respect with the simple phrase "You can't water down and dilute, you can't hide the truth from the youths." From the opening verse a sense of freedom sours high throughout each line sung at simmering tones. The befitting "Shack" directed video, easily grabs the essence and power of the single. The visual concept is very direct leaving no question of the natural passion Etana possesses for her craft. As illustrated in words the visual support shows a young free spirited woman of natural decree in a family dinning room setting being the target of scrutiny and discrimination by what are portrayed as conservative parents. As the plot gives way it becomes evident the young woman is rooted in her beliefs and won't be mislead, reminiscent of Etana and the many struggles she has had to conquer in past and recent times.
No longer a member on one of Reggae Music's most scripted Labels "Fifth Element Records," Etana has created her own Label "Freemind Music - The B.E.S Records". Etana has blossomed under the Guidance of the Sharon Burke managed Solid Agency and the help of industry acquaintances such as Big Yards Robert Livingston.
Etana will be forging ahead for the rest of 2007 with the release of her highly anticipated debut album, ETANA - The Strong One, on its way. The13 track album features productions from Dean Frazer, Robert Livingston, Steven Stanley and even the "wrong address" empress herself. Of her major assignments for the summer, Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest's Friday night "EVOLUTION" is the biggest, where she will share the stage with Dancehall greats Shaggy and Buju Banton as well as Hip Hop Veteran LL Cool J. One can expect a stimulating set from the jazzy roots/reggae singer who will be performing on the show for the first time
"I'm really gonna bring a spicy performance, some new songs from the album as well as my hit singles" she said.

Nothings wrong with her hair, I think she's amazing, beautiful and mysterious. I met her at Sunsplash last year and I can tell you this is one special Jamaican artist. Her music is what is needed right now in Jamaica to heal the people.

When someone hears an individual like Etana do her thing, you can tell she sing from her heart. Music to me is about feeling what the performer or artiste is relating, that bad or that wonderful feeling put on the open for others to feel, and Etana does this very well.
Thats raw talent.
ETANA thanks, for your entry into the music business.

love the song wrong Address. The other song have not yet connected. Saw you perform several times. Good singer. At Sumfest it was obvious that you and your team paid people to burst clappers. Before you enter or introduced properly they started to rave. They were also talking about it in the audience.
A beautiful girl like you should not get mixed up in that.
Keep the culture going. Its also true, you need to sort out your hair back.
love you sista

Etana please ignore the stupid hair comment and keep on doing what you're doing. It's refreshing to see a lady who knows herself and doesn't have a head full a chemicals.
I think those chemicals maybe seep through to the brain of that poster. ;)
