I am glad that different people are coming into the business. Other Caribbean countries also have talent too. Good look to him and the rest that follows.

I know personally they are individuals in GUYANA also that have great musically talent but hasn't got any opportunity to show case it. Keep the fight up it could happen one day.

Big Up to him for entering the reggae world. Good Luck. And to bahamian2da, I know alot of Bahamaians, and a lot of u have this misconception that the Bahamas "looks" more developed but take a trip to Jamaica and Trinidad and you'll see. Bahamas not even half as close to looking first world as JA TNT or Barbados. Plus the ppl that live on small family islands as u folks call dem, literally live in the bushes and most of dem can't read. Don't Lie. I know all this shyt cause I travel alot. Unnuh accent aight though. The girls make me dick rise when they talk.

O.K. people could we all just get along. In the Bahamas we consider ourselves to be very much Caribbean. It may not be "geograpically" so but culturally so we are. And I think every country in the world has its rich its poor so lets not focus on this whole to "American thing" and which Island is better than which. In regards to the Caribbean each island has its own personality which makes the Caribbean so great. In the Bahamas we've always supported other islands and some of us may seem a bit "snooty" but so are some JA and T&T people so lets not get it twisted. We are hardworkers we believe in our Country and we proud to be Bahamian. And yes I agree The Bahamian accent is off da chain!

Posted by: yardman on June 25, 2007 06:26 PM

nah tell no lie bahamian accent nice but everybody know say jamaican accent a one of the most copied accent in the entire world, jah know

Once again black people eating on each other like crabs in basket.
It does not matter where you are from as long as you love and respect reggae music. I am a british born Nigerian who loves reagge music to the max. I love it so much I go to jamacia and visited the Great Bob marley and pay my respects I have knowledge and history of reagge music. I love women from the carribean I am even married to one.
Marcus Gavery wanted all blacks to unite, if you are a real blackman then you would encourage all to participate and stop thinking like the whiteman wants us to think. As long as your skin is black we all black.
So trini and yardman go and listn to B. spears marcus Gavery readings and Bob marley. You should bury your head in the sand for the sensless comments.

Bahamians really needs to promote their own form of music, which is Junkanoo. They do not consider themselves part of the Caribbean and are quick to announce that they relate more to the American culture. Bahamians in general hate other islanders, especially Jamaicans and Haitians. Check out their local newspapers and you will see they use the Haitians as a scapegoat in regards to their crime and they despise Jamaicans. In other words, they hate us like the devil hates holy water. My opinion on Bahamians singing any form of reggae music for a gainful occupation is that to "Please leave our music alone."

Anyone to challenge me on what I stated above, please do so. Because I will embarrass the Bahamas with facts that would show the consistent hatefully treatment to Jamaicans that for the most part began after they received their independence. I think if Jamaicans knew what transpired over the years in the Bahamas, they would not be tolerant to any Bahamian entering this industry.

I would love to see an interview with Mr. Shiraz regarding this topic.

Why don't you enlighten us with this knowledge (ignorance) you have?

The fact that you feel a person is confined to whatever music their country of birth embraces the most is for lack of a better word, stupid.

The writer by the name of "doh worry" started this entire fued... I am from the Bahamas and am real proud. It is amazing how many seem to "bash" The Bahamas, saying things like Bahamas is "soft like ice cream" "not a real Caribbean country" "cant read???(lol)"Americanized" but fail to remember many things... When one looks at the GDP per Capita with regards to the Caribbean The Bahamas is $22,700 BSD (CIA world fact book) (which is on par with the American Dollar... I wonder what is the exchange rate of the Jamaican dollar or the currency used in Trinidad and Tobago compared to that of the Bahamian dollar, check it out http://www.xe.com/ucc/) Exports total $647 million in 2006 and is a major transshipment point for many products worldwide... We have a very prosperous country, and are very proud of it, AND YES WE DO EMBRACE OUR DIPLOMATIC relationship with the USA as a result of our proximity to them!! It is amazing that when talks of the Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME) was in progress one of the main factors that it is not in place and the Treaty of Charagamas failed, is because The Bahamas did not join... YOU ALL SURELY WANTED US TO BE APART OF THE CARIBBEAN THEN... or when we are constantly invited to join CARICOM and we decline only having a viewer ship status. ONE of our country's main economic problems is the influx of illegal immigrants such as Haitians and Jamaicans...THIS IS A FACT... Our government spends millions a year capturing, housing, and deporting such nationals who consistently enter the country! It is amazing how you can find a Jamaican or Trinidadian in every other country worldwide, and many don't want to return for obvious reasons. My point to you is... no one is perfect so you need not criticize! You should check your own country's problems before worrying about others!! The Bahamas is rich in culture and country Pride, yes we are small, but we are very powerful!

LINK UP MUH BOI!!

BLOY BLOY 242...don't kill me!! Furthermore this is directed to Yardman...I find it very offensive what was said about people from the family islands(as we call them) living in the bush and not being able to read. For us not being able to read, we surely doing WAY BETTER than all the other countries. Third richest country in the Western Hemisphere right after Canada and The United States...and RICHEST in the Caribbean..oh yea yall don't consider us Caribbean but that just goes to show where we stand and where your country stand if we were to be apart of the Caribbean. On top of that yall need to stop the hatin....all these Jamaican reggae artists always in The Bahamas performing and holding concerts and u want to know why because we SUPPORT YALL, probably more than some of u do! We don't hate, we embrace everyone. And as for the comment about us discriminating against Jamaicans and Haitians...that is our perogative. I'm not saying we better than anyone else cuz in all things we must be humble because as easily as things our given to us they can be taken away as well, but some of yall come in our country and want to take over and it ain't happpenin. Haitians and Jamaicans come into the Bahamas having an attitude. We are affording yall the opportunites that obviously yall can't get in your own country.
Trini to da bone---> Your comments jus display the amount of ignorance u have. And yes we are close to the United States..something that I am very proud of! Our alliance with them has placed us in the position that we are in, something that I will not be ashamed of. Anyway big up to Shiraz...big things in the makin...242 baby what it do!!!!
