I have nothing to brag about, but as i stated in the other chat room, i went to the show, And for a rookie mavado has shown so real improvment. He was good, considering the other big names on the show. I also had a chance to meet him at the after party ,which was held at my friend's club. and i exchanged a few words with him, and i can tell you he iz a very very humble Dj, I also told him when ever he has a moment he should check out Yardflex.com. To see how his fanz interact and he wrote it down and said respect.I will certainly buy a copy of his cd. My only worries iz, can VP records really do justice for him, Because Buju was on a radio show call link up. 'not sure if you know it' but in the interview Buju explained he was not happy with the payouts...lets all go out and support the first cd by Mavado please no burning!!!!Spread the word.

The flaw i see in Vado's armor right now is that he needs to learn how to perform. Something he cannot learn from the Killa.
The reason i asked if Vado needs the Killa is that i think the alliance may be more of a hinderance to his career at this point. Being in the alliance only gets you street cred in Jamaica.If the Killa can't elevate his international status, how can he do that for Vado? So if he steps away from the alliance to enhance his international career, would he be considerd a traitor?

Another thing, you cant say Killa is an hinderance to his career. Have you not heard of Mavado's tour dates??? if Killa was holding him back then Mavado wouldn't be on big shows right about now, much less have an album releasing soon. Also, I think the love/respect/ratings for YOUR ARTIST mek you blinded by the fact that Bounty Killa is not just a small island artist, he's been in the game long enough that his track record is long, and while he's not as commercial as YOUR ARTIST, the man is international in his own right. As for the traitor talk, I dont think if Mavado stepped away from the Alliance (not that he needs to) that he would be considered a traitor. Reason why Girltel is considered a traitor is because: 1- He left Alliance and ended up disrespecting "his father" in songs in a smart way, 2- he left di Alliance camp to go par wid Alliance front man's ENEMY. In relation to disliking Bounty, here is my take. Bounty has been on the same level for YEARS now. Possibly he has even regressed.It's obvious he prefers to be the BIG fish (no pun intended) in a very SMALL tank. My main problem is AMBITION. Bounty seems to have very little. Do you know how many ghetto yutes wanna be like Killa? But why do they wanna be like KIlla? The part of Killa that they want to emulate is the bad man facade. The man in black surrounded by his thugs.The always angry,always confrontational, always controvesial figure. His whole image is about WAR.Bway diss, bway get rub out. Right now, that's not what jamaican yutes need. They need positivity. 14yr old boy get stabbed in school. All part of the bad man imagery that bounty AND OTHERS perpetrate. Mi nah seh him fi act like a sissy, but sometimes him fi cool. Why is it violence and bad acts seem to follow him? When it come to street cred, bounty really is the grung gad, so he needs to realize that he's an icon to ghetto people and as such he should strive to give them something more positive to hold onto.
