Macka Diamond scores third #1
Queen of the dancehall Macka Diamond has scored her third number one song with the very hot 'Hula Hoop'.
She did it the first time with 'Done Already' then followed up with the women's anthem 'Bun Him' which was done in combination with Black-er.
Now she is at it again with 'Hula Hoop' a song which seems to have taken a life of its own. It topped the Richie B charts, was number one on RE TV singles charts and now it is perched at the top of the Hype TV singles chart.
This female DJ is certainly on a roll as she won the IRIE FM and Richie B' EME Awards for Female DJ of the year.
Last Saturday Macka gave the Dancing Dynamite a whale of a time as she along with the host did the hula hoop dance.

Her video medley Don't Move/Gangsta Wife was premiered on Entertainment Report last Friday and is now enjoying good rotation on all cable stations.
Macka just returned from Antigua where she and Baby Cham
performed in front of 7000 people last weekend.

I just want to ask Macka Diamond why she feels the need to record a song promoting violence and guns??
She is almost 50, what will she tell a young person of 15?
It is really disgusting when everyone is jumping on the gun bandwagon just to have a hit song. As a woman, and a mother, she should be ashamed of herself.
How illiterate is she to promote such non-sense? Macka you have the ears of a lot of young people. Do better than that.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but I have never heard a woman singing a song glorifying guns.

Macka Diamond is in her 30's not 50's for your correction and information and of course she is the "Gangsta's Wife", u no see she ask Bounty to marry her?? lol
why woman can not sing about gun too? after all it is all just lyrical and in keeping with the type of music hitting the dancehall. I mean if the rythm is their u expect her not to voice and not un the top rythims which happen to be like ""no fear or Tremor"

I know Macka Diamond from she name Lady Mackarel back in the '80s. I have stage show tape with her, Lady G, Lady Charmaine and Lady Junie (now named Junie Platinum). She is not in her 30's she is in her mid-40's which is closer to 50 than 30!!
She might be illiterate, but she has a responsibility as a musician. This is just my humble opinion, but I think that there is so much killing in Jamaica, and who really enjoys going to funerals and hosptial rooms? Is that really a good vibe?
