Doctors ordered him to take two weeks bed rest after being diagnosed with pericarditis, which is an inflammation of the lining around the heart (the pericardium) causing chest pain and accumulation of fluid around the heart.

Still the singjay could not resist the lure of pleasing his many fans, so the minute he felt a little better he ignored doctors orders and performed in St Thomas and Virgin Islands to the delight of all those who turned out.

"I couldn't believe it, the event enjoyed a full turnout and the fans were kinda hoping to still see me," Vegas said in amazement. He drummed up enough strength to give them what they turned out to see, 'Hot Wuk', 'Lean Wid It', 'Do You Know', 'Tek Weh Yuhself' and 'Nuh Friend From Dem'.

Following his sizzling performance, Vegas is now under strict instruction to adhere to a one-week bed rest or risk facing the worsening of the pericarditis. But no fear, the singjay says, in another two weeks he will once again be hitting the road doing what he does best, "performing for his many fans". His album is now in the final stages and set for a summer the meantime look out for more big tunes from Vegas.
