Ziggy Marley & URGE co-sponsors project with the Sports Development Association
Unlimited Resources Giving Enlightenment (URGE), a charitable organization founded and operated by Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers is pleased to announce that it is a co-sponsor with the Sports Development Association in building a multi-court facility at the Nine Miles Community Centre, Nine Miles, St. Ann. The construction of a multi-court facility will be home to netball, basketball and similar sports.
Most recently, a One Love football tournament kicked off at the Community Centre with Mrs. Cedella Booker, Stephen and Damian Marley in attendance. This was won by Ferncourt High School, Claremont, St. Ann.
Other projects implemented by the Marley family in St. Ann include the roofing of Rhoden Hall Basic School, the building of a library, canteen, chicken coop and water tanks at Stepney Primary and All Age where Bob Marley attended at an early age. Over fifteen students from that institution have benefitted from scholarships sponsored by the Marley family.

Great! Keep it up ! I love that vybe! Give back to your Country! Daddy Marley would have been so happy if he was alive today. It is about time , more of the big artiste in the business need to take a page out of your books, instead of creating war and strife in the business. help the ghetto youth to elevate out of poverty and afford them the opportunity to live out their true potential. INI a radio dj keeping the rootz Reggae vybe alive every thursday from 7:30 -10pm on vonradio be sure to link up! INI will forward anything positive!!

Meela,
Real generosity is helping the people help themselves... teaching a man how to fish not giving him fish... real generosity is giving anonymously not giving and then sending out a press release... I guess they are trying to improve their image...

I am so happy to hear that the Marley Family is giving back to the community where Bob was born and now rests. I'd lke to say that I hope people will support and participate positively in this initiative. To URGE and the Marley Family thanks for the project. These two communities are going to need ongoing support to keep this project alive and this is where the communties must play their part in realizing that they have to keep up the momentum and ensure that they come up with creative ways to sustain the project. I wouldn't like for it to be good the first few months and then in a year or so they forget about... Asfo the kids who received the scholarships I hope they make ue of it and I hope they get al the support they need to make the best of this opportunity. I hope my comments are not construed as negative, but I grew up in a ommunity about five miles away from Nine Miles and I know that a lot of projects get started and then they just disappear because the communities become apathetic and just abandon a good thing... Again I stress they need support to carry on a good thing. I hope the Ministry of Local Gvernment, Sports, Youth and Culture as wel as community acivists partner with the communities to make this project work.
The MARLEYS RUN TINGS... STEPHEN I LOVE U BABY!!!!
