Dancehall/reggae trio Voice Mail is currently in Japan conducting a photo shoot for their sophomore album, Hello. The group which recently won Group of the Year awards for 2006 from Richie B's Excellence in Music and Entertainment and the Irie FM Awards, worked with a heavy lineup of producers on the forthcoming album.

'We feel really blessed to have won the awards, and we just want to thank the print media, the electronic media, the fans, and our family and friends for all the support that they have given to Voice Mail', group member O'neil Edwards commented.

Voice Mail's debut album Hey was released last year via VP Records. The album spent three weeks at number one on local charts, and spawned the hit singles Bring Yu Body Come, Jamaican Jiggas, and Get Crazy. The set also contained previously released hit singles Get On Up, Ready to Party, Weh Di Time and Wacky Dip.

The group members have indicated that their new album will showcase their growth and maturity. 'Its going to be a step up from our first album. We have a variety of subject matters and the whole concept will be refreshing', said Edwards.

Voice Mail emerged on the entertainment scene in 1999. The current lineup of member are Edwards, Craig Jackson and Kevin Blair.

Voicemail in my opinion is the best male group out there right now. They make good music that the people can vibe to. Big up voicemail.

Wade
PLEASE... One word comes to mind when I think of voicemail... TALENTLESS... home many songs about dances can there be... I can't even call the work music more like RUBBISH

I think that the Richie B Awards show is FAKE. I am not saying that Voicemail not bad unuh but please the other group like T.O.K. have alot of variety tunes not just dancing tunes which voicemail did. So I dont think a group can win group of the year with just doing one type of tune - Dance. Look into to it.

Doctor and Lala why unoo a bad mind Voice Mail fah? How does TOK drop into the picture? Voice Mail had the most hits for a group last year in Jamaica including two number one hits. Whether their songs are about dancing or not, its fun music, at least they were not singing about beating up anybody, dissing anybody, dissing women or encouraging violence. Instead of trying to bash voice mail because of their achievements, we should be bigging them up. Irie FM and Richie B's EME Awards saluted them as group of the year, so too RETV. Are you all trying to say that all these awards are fake? Come on guys be realistic about this. Voice Mail is the only group making any serious noise right now on the dancehall scene. Remember too that their album went gold in Japan selling over 100,000 copies and the album spent 3 weeks at #1 in Jamaica. So which other group achieved this last year? surely not TOK or any one else.

Way to go Voicemail! A very humble, talented band of brothers that truly understand themselves. Really now, those negative comments are not necessary. The group is out there doing what some other idiots should be doing and making us and the music proud. TOK, Ward21 even One Third worked had, but Voicemail sold the most and have been performing extensively worldwide, without controversy (Chi-chi song hurt TOK). So hats off to you and god bless di haters because dem can't stop oonu all dem a chat!!!
