This story was just sad. I cannot beleive that the Marleys would really setup this venture in another country. Bob Marley is not Bahamian, he never lived there, didn't die there and is not buried there. I guess they are free to do what they want still and perhaps they are building an International brand, but if that is the case, why wouldn't they put the first resort in JA and then expand to other places? Just a shame.

i once heard Rita say at a conference on philanthropy in Ocho Rios that plenty plenty entertainers including her family do give back to their country and community,but they dont think it is necessary to publicise it. Some of you probably don't understand economics, but if the hotel has only 16 rooms, it has to be expensive to break even and really expensive to turn a profit. Also if it has only sixteen rooms, then obviously the owners would go for exclusivity.Nothing is wrong with the prices. As for Rita capitalising on the name and fame, why not? Doesn't she deserve it? For all those that don't know, setting up any business in Jamaica is beyond expensive. And after you do, then taxation will drive you right out of business.
Final point, people don't get it twisted. Bob Marley is not famous soley because of his music, but because Chris Blackwell is a marketing genius. Bob was touring places in the 70's that some artistes have not toured in their entire lifetime. Thanks to Chris Blackwell...
