Greetings Da'Ville, it's been a few years since we talked. How are you?

Da'Ville
I'm doing fine at the moment, thanks.

Shilo
Well, well, well...you've been doing big things recently. How does it feel?

Da'Ville
Well every thing feels good right now. I can't complain at all.

Shilo
Your single 'On My Mind' a mad all a di woman dem...the video I see is on your MySpace page. The single is also the lead on VP's 'Strictly The Best' compilation.
How has the response been?

Da'Ville
The response has been tremendous, people finally feeling the vibes and showing appreciation for my music, so everything is looking good.

Shilo
I see you've been busy performing all over the world. How has the career pace been?

Da'Ville
It's been hectic, but at the same time manageable. I mean, after all, this is what the career is all about...me being able to go and represent for the people wherever and whenever they request my presence.

Shilo
You are loved by the women and respected by the men as one of the most humble entertainers out there. How do you stay so grounded?

Da'Ville
Well! I just put God first and let everything else fall into place.

Shilo
That body of yours Da'Ville...do you have a permit for it?

Da'Ville
Lol, no I don't, you think I need one?

Shilo
Hell yeah...but moving right along!!!
I always seem to interview you close to Valentine's Day.
Do you have anything special planned for this Valentine's Day with that special person in your life?

Da'Ville
Well, this Valentine's Day will catch me traveling to a few places to perform, so as you can see it will be a busy period for me.
In the midst of that I will try and do something special for that special someone.

Shilo
Since we listen to your music to get our so-called groove on...who do you listen to?

Da'Ville
Who do I listen to? I listen to a variety, it varies. I might listen to R-Kelly, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross and many others. Mostly people from the old school.

Shilo
Can we expect an album from you soon?

Da'Ville
Well yes. Sometime in early March 2007, but I can't reveal the exact date.

Shilo
Have you considered being in any other part of the industry besides being the artist?

Da'Ville
It's funny but a lot of people do not know that I do a lot on the production side as well.
I've done some producing, along with my partner J. Brown for artists like Luciano, Junior Kelly, Anthony B, Queen Ifrica and many more.
As you can see, I'm already involved in other aspects of the business. I hope to one day find a new talent that me and my partner can work with and bring to the center stage eventually.

Shilo
Who do you listen to most right now? What genre?

Da'Ville
I listen to all of them, it doesn't matter what genre it is. As long as it sounds good to me, I will listen to it, that's just me.

Shilo
How do you feel about all this feud among the dancehall artists?

Da'Ville
First of all, I cannot tell a man what to do and how to live his life. Speaking generally, I think all that negativity will show the result of itself one day, and I believe that it will not and cannot be good for our music in the long run. We need to be paying attention to the important and positive aspects of the business and put the negative squabbles aside. Plain and simple as that.

Shilo
What are you most passionate about? [Besides music]

Da'Ville
God, life, love, family, my girl and children.

Shilo
There are many festivals and annual shows across the globe each year...is there a particular show you have never been on that you would want to be on?

Da'Ville
I have a few requests on the table right now that hopefully I will be able to accept.
I'm just doing the work, but nothing happens before the time. I'm just working hard and then seeing what the future brings.

Shilo
Are you still in Philadelphia?

Da'Ville
Not as much as I used to be. I'm home in Jamaica most of the time. I still go there to visit family and friends every now and then, but Jamaica is where it's at right now.

Shilo
Are you still with 'Hard Rock Entertainment'?

Da'Ville
NO.

Shilo
Are you still channeling your anger with sex?

Da'Ville
WHAT? Who told you this? Well, what is an argument without some great make-up sex after with your special lady? (lol)
I have a woman who helps me with that energy. Sex is a wonderful thing isn't it? I think so.

Shilo
But Da'Ville...yu nuh easy. You really forgetful...well...let me refresh you and my reader's memory as to when you told me that little diddy.
Back to business...what else can we look forward to from you for 2007?

Da'Ville
Well you can look forward to the new album coming out in March 2007, the title of it is "On My Mind".
I must say thanks to J. Brown of Fashozy Records, Lloyd Stanbury, Steven McGregor, Lady Dawn and every one who helped to make this possible.

Shilo
Oh yeah...I forgot to ask...how and where did you spend the holidays?

Da'Ville
It's funny you should ask, but I was actually very busy doing shows in Jamaica and the Caribbean islands.
It was a lot of hard work, but you done know this is what we do so we just get it done.

Shilo
Will you give me a shout when next you are in New York?
After all Da'Ville...you are missing from this page right here.

Da'Ville
I will definitely link you dem time deh zeen...much respect.

There you have it...Da'Ville is an exceptional artist. Go out and support him.
Bun bootlegg 'roun here!
