'West Best' another draw from the crop of Iley Dread hits
Kings of Kings label, promoter and singer Colin Iley Dread Levy has harvested another hit in the pro-marijuana single West Best. Executive produced by Kings of Kings, Colin Iley Dread Levy. West Best is expected to be released on seven inch vinyl on the 27th January and will be distributed by In The Streets distribution. According to Iley Dread West Best was not scheduled to be a part of his upcoming Living Truth album, but because of the great response from the public, he decided to include it.
The single which lauds the quality herb which comes from the West end of Jamaica has been a power play for selectors and disjockeys prime time programs these days. A music video to transport the animation of the lyrics via some of the best known images associated with the topic, is being scripted and shooting expected soon. Another new release that 'West Best' follows close on heels is the optimistic 'Good News' with Turbulence and Geoffery Star. Already the music video has been shot for Good News.
At the 2006 Christmas staging of GT Taylor Extravaganza Iley Dread unleashed the single West Best to thousands in St. Elizabeth, another marijuana sympathetic parish, and was pleased with the response. He sang "last time I get a draw from St. Bess (customizing the song to fit the parish) it make me feel like I man in a mount zion/have to request another draw from St. Bess/ have to request another draw from down a west/cause it put me in the mood/to make sweet love to my empress".
