Bob Marley week - "Smile Jamaica" - Reggae concert

Jamaica is a small, beautiful island that has been plagued with hard, violent times. No doubt, blessed with talent and man-power, Jamaica is struggling to keep our people's head above water, and let peace, love and unity reign. So to take a step further towards that ultimate goal, Ghetto Youths International is presenting, "Smile Jamaica".

Smile Jamaica is a live-band concert scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 10, during Bob Marley week (Sunday, February 4 - Sunday, February 11). It takes place in Bob Marley's birthplace at Nine Miles, St. Ann. Already confirmed to appear are: The Marley Brothers (Stephen, Ky-Mani, Julian and Damian), Cocoa Tea, Bounty Killa, Perfect, Chezidek, Wayne Marshall and Etana.

This should be a momentous occasion as this is the first time that these four Marley Brothers will be performing on the same stage in Jamaica. They will do their own sets and will definitely bring a different vibe to the island.

This is not the first "Smile Jamaica" concert, held in Jamaica. In December 5, 1976, Bob Marley headlined the show at National Heroes Park in Kingston. Despite being attacked the night before, he murmured that he would only do one song, but once he started with War, he ended up doing a ninety-minute long performance. Eighty thousand persons were present. The vibe of that show is described as "buoyant and positive" and this one will be in keeping with that.

Other events being planned by the Bob Marley Group of Companies for the celebration of Bob Marley's 62nd birthday include symposiums, a film show, a concert; to be held at the Bob Marley Museum, Tuff Gong International, Culture Yard in Trench Town and Nine Miles.

GOD BLESS THE MARLEY FAMILEY,AND ALSO THE MORGANS HERITAGE FAMILEY,FOR MAKING JAMAICA LOOKING A BIT BETTER THAN HOW IT IS LOOKING NOW OVERSEAS. AS A JAMAICAN LIVING IN THE US I AM NOT TOO PROUD OF MY COUNTRY RIGHT NOW,BUT I KNOW THAT WITH THESE TWO FAMILIES AROUND, I HAVE HOPE OF A BETTER JAMAICA.GOOD LINE UP,BUT A THINK THEY ARE MAKING A BIG MISSTAKE BOOKING THAT BUNTY KILLA PERSON, THAT SHOW IS NOT FOR HIM, REMEMBER THIS IS A BOB MARLEY THING,FOR REAL ENTERTAINERS,NOT FOR CARELESS BOYS.PEACE AND LOVE FOR 2007

What ever MajorT,That was indeed a mistake, my fingers are as heavy as your tongue.it is clear that you are in love with the killa.Am not,and i sincerely mean it when i say i do not hate him, i just hate his behavior for a big man that call him self an entertainer.
The point i was trying to make is that, he is about the gun,the war, disrespecting females, and calling other entertainer's name, and Bob marley is not about that.calling peoples name on stage is not talent. Am aware of the two good songs that he did, which is book, book, book and mama, tell him to go back where him get them two from and stop acting like carless gals.Halla!!!!!!luv u

May God bless the Marley family. Long may they live and I do hope that they will continue to prosper. I have been a Bob Marley fan all my life. To me, Bob is still alive, and continues to live in my heart. He should be an inspiration to all those Reggae Artists who are fighting and killing each other. The songs of Bob Marley & the Wailers can never be old and will always live on. One love!!
