The original Abyssinians are slated to return to Jamaica after a 28 year hiatus. This is the first time the original group will appear in Jamaica since being backed by Burning Spears' band and sharing the same stage as Bob Marley on Reggae Sunsplash 1978.
This year's show honors Joseph 'Culture' Hill and will introduce his son, Kenyatta, to the Rebel Salute audience in continuation of Hill's legacy.
The Tru Juice Rebel Salute 2007 roster features foundation artists Errol Dunkley, John Holt and Gregory Isaacs alongside I Wayne, Chuck Fenda and Gentlemen. Other performers include Tony Rebel, Richie Spice, Queen Ifrica and Jah Mason. You can expect gourmet ital goods and a family friendly stage show environment.
Gates open at 6 p.m., showtime will be 8 p.m. The show will take place at the Port Kaiser Sports Complex in St. Elizabeth. This is the 14th staging of the popular concert by Flames Productions. Typically over 30,000 attend the annual concert which is known for its positive vibrations.
