Judy Mowatt Bath, St. Thomas Project - Led by God

JudyMowatt_gospel.jpgIn the year 2003, Judy Mowatt was led by God to stage her birthday celebration with the people of Bath, St. Thomas in the form of a health fair Christmas treat. In addition, to culminate with a grand gospel concert with the most current, anointed ministers in the industry.

The directive from God was specific, but not having a family member or friend from the area, sister Judy had to seek advice from key people in the community. She recalls her only link to the town of Bath,

"The hot spring situated above the Bath Fountain Hotel has medicinal and healing properties and it is also one of my cooling out spots."

Walking by faith and obedience to God, you're able to produce and fulfill the purpose.

This project is entitled, "JUDY MOWATT'S BIRTHDAY BASH."

This now annual event is an all day - early night celebration. This calendar year it will be staged at its "original" birth place, BATH PRIMARY and JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL on December 20th 2006.

The day activities begin with a Health Fair, preceded by an opening ceremony. The Jamaican Information Service (JIS) will be there to offer media coverage. Several generous doctors and nurses from various medical institutions and practices (private & public) will be on hand to render their services "FREE OF COST."

The St. Thomas medical team will offer FREE HIV TESTING and COUNSELLINGS. One of the main focus is combating the spread of this deadly disease in the parish.
The lions' Club, the Diabetic Association will offer blood pressure checks, eye screening etc. There will be a live chat room with a professional counselor for troubled teens. Activities will be provided for the little ones.

Grooming for the elderly by professional make-up artistes and manicurists will be available "FREE OF COST." Special talks of a healthy life-style will be had. Special entertainment and food for all.

A project of this magnitude would be impossible had it not been for the labour of love given by our faith partners and corporate entities. We are expecting to cater to five hundred (500) adults and six hundred (600) children. Help us put a genuine smile on the faces of our brothers and sisters of Bath this coming festive season.

Remember the "fortunate few" are responsible for the "unfortunate many."
