Welcome To Jamrock returns this Christmas!

WelcomeJamJuniorgong.jpgAppleton Jamaica Rum, in association with Cable and Wireless and bMobile, presents Welcome To Jamrock: the concert, on Friday, December 22. This year, the concert will be held at the Constant Spring Football Club.

Last year, the first staging of the event was held at Cinema 2 in New Kingston and saw stellar performances from Dancehall songstress Alaine, Serious Times singer Gyptian, Roots Reggae giant Richie Spice, the Reggae family band Morgan Heritage, inscrutable Dancehall veteran Buju Banton and multi-Grammy award winner Damian "Jr Gong" Marley.

Since then, a lot has happened with the artistes who have performed on the show. Alaine has consistently released hit Dancehall tunes. Gyptian has released his debut album. Richie Spice has kept high on the local charts.

Morgan Heritage has released a live album. Buju Banton has released another album and has been the subject of conversation worldwide. While Damian Marley has accomplished a feat that many Reggae/Dancehall entertainers have only dreamt of achieving in their lifetime.

At the 2006 Grammy Awards, Damian "Jr Gong" Marley made history when he proudly accepted his awards for the two categories he was nominated in: Best Reggae Album and Best Alternative Performance. No other Reggae/Dancehall artistes have ever won more than one Grammy award in a single year. He has toured the world promoting the album and is happy that he will be performing in Jamaica this Christmas.

The lineup for the Welcome To Jamrock concert will be released soon, but there is no doubt that it will be one of the most anticipated shows this Christmas.
