It's catwalk time!
On Sunday, September 3, top international industry professionals will select the Jamaica Fashion Model, Petite Jamaica Fashion Model and the Male Face of Jamaica winners at the grand finals in the ballroom of the Hilton Kingston hotel.
A star-studded line-up of Pulse supermodels, headed by the world's number one black model Jaunel McKenzie, will strut their stuff in what is expected to be a spectacular show beginning at 7:30 pm.
According to a release from Pulse, "major international model agents from New York Models and MC2 will choose the winners". The world is already looking to Pulse for the world's next new faces following the rapid success of Nadine Willis & Jaunel McKenzie. Jeneil Williams, Pulse's new rising star, the new face of Bennetton, is herself represented by New York Models. New York City has been a solid base for a host of other successful Pulse models elected winners and runners-up of the Caribbean Model Search. They include Rochelle Watson (Women), Sunna Gottshalk (Elite) Oraine Barrett, Khalil Marks (both at Major Models) and Nicole Grey (MC2).
This year, a new element has also been added to the search: The Caribbean Model Search Reality TV Show, now airing on CVM TV. Later on, winners of national competitions - currently being staged in other Caribbean islands - will join their Jamaican counterpart (the winner of the CMS TV show) for a 6-week TV series that marks the culmination of the biggest and most dynamic talent competition ever staged regionally.
The Caribbean Model search finals will feature representatives from The Bahamas, Barbados, Cayman, St Vincent, Antigua, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts and Trinidad & Tobago, as well as selected North American cities.
Contestants in the TV show will vie for their respective national titles and later will battle to be the Caribbean's next supermodel.
