Nigel Powell, the 31 year-old brother of 100 metres record holder Asafa Powell, is making his first tentative steps into the challenging world of entertainment. He is now managing the singing group, CK5, which you might know as H5 which did so well in last year's Digicel Rising Stars competition.
He has been a teacher for eight years, working two years at Tivoli High and the remainder at Charlie Mount High school. A graduate of the Edna Manley school, he teaches music, and is proficient at playing the sax, bass guitar, and the piano. His brother, Asafa, is a whiz at the bass and electric (rhythm) guitar. The brothers will be co-managing CK5.
"Asafa and I will manage them, they are some youths that we believe in," Mr. Powell told YardFlex.Com. "All of we grow up together, I met one of the members, Dwight at the local Church of God where we worship, and the other guys live in the Waterloo district."

CK5 has performed during the Jamaica Diaspora Conference, and has done a number of corporate gigs such as the Blue Cross 50th anniversary and a recent function at the Jamaica Grande.
Nigel also helps to manage the careers of two past Edna Manley graduates, Racquel Hinds and Lenya Wilks.
