Stephen for Marley Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival tour in US

stephenmarley.jpgThe long-time beef between Bunny Wailer and Lee "Scratchy" Perry forced the re-scheduling of a date in upstate New York recently. Promoters had to quickly postpone the concert and Stephen Marley has been added to the line-up.

Initially slated for Sunday, June 25, Stephen will co-headline the "Bob Marley Roots, Rock, Reggae Festival" through 17 US cities. Along with his brother Ziggy, Stephen is sure to deliver tracks from his Mind Control solo debut. The CD will be distributed via Tuff Gong/Ghetto Youths/Universal-Republic labels. The tour begins in Redway, California on Sunday, August 6.

The intention of the promoters had been "to unite the famous Wailers", and they billed Perry, an artiste they considered integral to the original wailing concept that emerged with Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer and Bob Marley during the 'Scratch' years.

Stephen Marley is a consious yute from long time. Mi Gald seh Stephen Marley is still promoting his fathers legacy. People abroad need to realize the impact that reggae music had on the world and how it set the trend for other forms of music like Dancehall and Hip-Hop.
