Jamie Foxx Will Not Play Marley

Well-known entertainment writer Kevin Jackson disclosed to YardFlex.Com over the weekend that Academy award winning actor and award winning singer Jamie Foxx had denied reports that he will be playing reggae icon Bob Marley in a film, as was reported in the press a few weeks ago. The interview was done on the red carpet at the recently held BET Awards.

The following is an excerpt from KJ's report from L.A, California
In an interview with this writer on the red carpet at the recently held BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, Foxx said that contrary to what had been reported in the press, he will not be playing Marley in any film.

"No, I will not be playing Bob Marley. What happened is I ran into one of his sons at a club the other day and that was about it," Foxx explained.

The 37 year-old superstar, who won the Best Actor Oscar award for his brilliant portrayal of the late Ray Charles in the biopic, Ray, recently released the album, Unpredictable on J Records. The album which accumulated multiple weeks at the top of the Billboard album charts, has sold over 3 million copies to date.

Foxx recently wrapped up shooting the big screen adaptation to the groundbreaking 1980s television series, Miami Vice. "It was a hard shoot but a great shoot. Actually, Miami is my favourite place to vacation, too. But the movie comes out on July 28," said Foxx.

yeah right.. jamie is not the man for this movie. but anyway, he could be playing Peter tosh, cause someone have to play him, and he would be perfect for that role. ziggy marley should be playing bob, cause he looks like him, have the same voice, and he is old enough. and what about all this comments about lauryn as rita? the only one who can play this role is naomi harris, she had that pefect jamaican accent and she looks like a young rita. it would be a shame if rita accepted jamie as bob. thats the way it is.

hollywood always come up with dumb moneymaking ideas yeah, dumb. (they gotta white girl going to play a light skin black woman/mulatto) no way jamie foxx could even come close to playing Bob Marley and i know jamie foxx is smart enough not to seriously consider doing Bob Marley such an injustice.
