Ya heard it here first folks, deejay Mad Cobra has confirmed that he has landed a leading role as a villain in the independent film, Shottas 2, the sequel to the grimy hardcore Jamaican gangster movie that is a cult classic in the ethnic communities in the United States, and in Jamaica.
"I can't reveal too much about the storyline, but basically my role in the movie is that of the lead villain, who upon hearing of the deaths of Wayne (Benz) flies to New York in his private jet and starts a vendetta of sorts against his killers. The villain is like a successful career hit man," he told YardFlex.Com.
"I have no idea when the movie is going to start shooting, but everything has been finalized now, and all that is left is for me to get the script and go to New York and Miami where we will be shooting the film."
This will be Mad Cobra's first feature role in a film, but the deejay says he won't be taking any acting lessons, despite the fact that the other lead actor, Kymani Marley has had major roles in two flicks to date - the 2001 Shottas, and the 2003 BV International's One Love, the script of which was written by veteran Jamaican writer, Trevor Rhone.
"Right now, is just a natural thing, mi know the gangster life," he said confidently.
