Ricky Trooper walked away with the winner's trophy for 'Death Before Dishonour 6', a world sound system clash, over the weekend in the city of Montego Bay.
An emotional Trooper told the crowd "people, a cry me a cry y'nuh. People, a nuff fight dem fight me, people me love oonu, ah oonu gimme dis. Thanks, star," he said, holding the trophy aloft.
David Rodigan placed second. This year's contest saw Alaska, Black Kat, last year's champs, Bass Odyssey, and Trooper. The Mighty Crown from Japan failed to enter the contest upon hearing of a 'family death'.
