Elephant Man leads with eight nominations at the 25th International Reggae and World Music Awards. Following close behind are Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley and Sean Paul with six nods.
The annual award ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 6 at New York's famed Apollo Theatre. Among his six nominations, Marley is nominated for an award in his father's name, the Bob Marley Award for Entertainer of the Year. Marley has been confirmed to perform at the show, and if his recent GRAMMY wins for Best Reggae Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance are any indication, he is set to take home a couple of awards, as well.
This year's Marcus Garvey Humanitarian Award will be bestowed on actor Danny Glover, rock singer Bono and activist/entertainer Harry Belafonte. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster.com. For more, visit InternationalMusicAwards.com.
