D'Angel, whose monster hit, 'Downtown Girl' dominated local charts last year, will be taking a sabbatical from all stage shows for the next five months because of her two-month old pregnancy.
"After my baby, I will be right back, I am not taking an extended break. Right now, I am recording my album, I already did my collaborations for 'Undisputed', and I have a couple of videos to do soon, and in the meantime, I'll still be recording songs in the studio, just no shows for now," she told YardFlex.Com.
Asked if things were moving a bit fast for her, she responded:
"I am just grateful for this blessing, this is the first time that's I’ve got pregnant, and it's a blessing, all love, and I am just praying and asking God to carry me through it, He knows best...everything is happening, and it is moving fast, but I prayed to find somebody like Moses, someone who loves me completely...it is God's will."
It has been almost a year since D'Angel called it quits with her former boyfriend, and Beenie Man's arch-rival, Bounty Killer. Since that time, she has scored a top ten hit, and got engaged in a move that has shocked the dancehall community. Now, her pregnancy and upcoming nuptials seem like the 'icing on the cake', if you will pardon the bad pun.
"I am due this...I've earned it, over time, as a person, I have sacrificed, I am an entrepreneur, I am focused, I now know what I want out of life, I needed this support system...this is not quick, it's just destiny,"
