Grammy Award winner and double platinum recording artist Shaggy will be among the top acts performing at the 10th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival taking place on the island from Thursday, June 29 to Sunday, July 2.
Shaggy was a major hit with the crowd when he performed at the 7th Annual St. Kitts Music Festival in 2003. He won his first Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album in 1996 while the album's title track, Boombastic shot to number one on reggae, R&B and rap charts all over the world. Hits such as Summertime, Angel, That Girl and It Wasn't Me further solidified his appeal. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Shaggy was raised in Brooklyn and remains one of the biggest crossover successes in dancehall reggae.
Other confirmed performers for the 2006 Music Festival include Dionne Warwick, The Mighty Arrow, Crucial Bankie, Culture and Morgan Heritage, says Allister Williams, Executive Director of the St. Kitts Music Festival.
