After his previous successfull sold-out show in Montreal and Toronto in August 2004, Sizzla is now going on a Canada-wide "Da Real LIVE Thing Tour"; in such cities as Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Cambridge, and Toronto, respectively.

Opening acts for the Montreal show (March 18), include Django, Sampaloo, Toronto's Sample King, and more. Hosts for the night include Prymtym and Don Ignorance. Music will be provided by Montreal's own Little Thunder, Assassins, and Toronto's King Klepto.

Sizzla Kalonji hails from August Town, Kingston in Jamaica. After his discovery in the 1990's, he was quickly catapulted to the forefront of Reggae music's roots movement. As one of reggae music's most prolific artists, Sizzla has the reputation of mastering the art of fusing socially charged lyrics and contemporary dancehall beats. As a member of the militant Bobo Ashanti tribe, Sizzla draws on his religious and social beliefs to condemn oppression and injustice. Among his listeners he has a strong appeal because he is able to give voice to the struggles of Jamaican youth.

As prolific as he is, in many circles Sizzla is best known for the classic album and title track, "Praise Ye Jah" (1997). Hip-Hop and Pop audiences were introduced to Sizzla when Hip-Hop star Ja-Rule sampled "Solid As A Rock" (2002) in 2003 for his song "The Crown".

Sizzla has recently signed with the Damon Dash Music Group (DDMG). Sizzla has over 30 full-length albums released for labels like VP Records, Greensleeves, and Jet Star - countless 7-inch singles released in his native Jamaica - including the crossover smash "Just One Of Those Days (Dry Cry)". And now, his forthcoming DDMG release, set for an early-2006 release, will mark Sizzla's major-label debut.
