FOX announced Thursday that KANYE WEST will receive the 2005 Artist Achievement Award at the 2005 Billboard Music Awards.
The honor will be given during the network's live broadcast of the show on Tuesday, December 6. The award is bestowed upon an artist who has helped redefine the landscape of popular music.
"Kanye West has not only had a huge impact on R&B/Hip-Hop, he has transformed modern music as a whole," says TAMARA CONNIFF, co-executive editor of Billboard.
Past recipients of the award include ROD STEWART, MADONNA, AEROSMITH, CHER and DESTINY'S CHILD.
