Beenie Man's Summer Sizzle, Great Show

Thousands of party hungry fans turned out last Saturday to celebrate the birthday of self proclaimed 'King of the Dancehall', Beenie Man at Summer Sizzle, which was staged at the Jamalco Sports Complex, Halse Clarendon, Jamaica

Beenie, who is also, referred to as 'The Doctor' in the dancehall circles, delivered on his promise of a fun-filled and high-energy show. The show featured pulsating stints from the likes of Lady Saw, Turbulence, Cobra, Cocoa Tea and the ever charming and loved Beresford Hammond.

Turbulence, who came on just before Beenie, gave a ruthless performance, which the crowd loved. The many flags flying through the air and the continuous blowing of whistles told the tale, the crowd loved him.

Lady Saw was frank in her delivery. She spent a lot of time on how her man have to treat her and how she would treat him in return, especially if she should find out that he is cheating on her. Cobra's performance was enough to have patrons discharging their firearms.

Beres and Cocoa Tea were just awesome and the crowd could not have gotten enough of them.
The likes of Bone Crusher, Jimmy Cliff, Assassin, Kevin Lyttle and Spragga Benz generated some hype and had the crowd going, however, they were not fully reaching the mass.

Jamalco Sports Complex was full of eager patrons yearning to see 'The Doctor' in action, that some stood for over eight hours to get a taste of 'The Doctor's medicine. Beenie, who had taken the stage earlier to perform a single with Jimmy Cliff, was re-introduced to the stage at minutes to six Sunday morning by three emcees. According to GT Taylor the introduction of the self proclaimed 'King of the Dancehall' could not be conducted by himself, therefore he called on the likes of Big A, and Barry G.

Once 'The Doc' emerged onstage the crowd went berserk. He unleashed a slew of hits from his catalogue before calling on his guest. As his guest emerged from backstage the crowd went 'crazy'. There were lots of screams and roars coming from the patrons who had stood for hours waiting on this moment. Capleton was well received and he alongside Beenie rocked the crowd well into the morning as the first rays from the sun began to warm the venue.
