police-cars.jpgDetectives attached to the Jamaica Constabulary Force are searching for a baby who was born on Tuesday but who was stolen from the hospital ward early Wednesday morning.

Head of the Constabulary's Corporate Communication's Unit, CCU, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, Dahlia Garrick, says the baby's mother raised an alarm after returning from the restroom to find that her baby was missing from the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, where she did her delivery.

ASP Garrick is appealing to the public to provide any information that can assist the police in its search for the missing baby.

This is the second newborn to be kidnapped in the last 5-days. On Friday, a three week old was kidnapped at the Cornwall Regional Hospital after the baby's mother asked a woman who befriended her to watch the baby.

The mother reportedly went to use the restroom after leaving the hospital's pharmacy. The police found the baby on Sunday in Norwood in St. James.

The alleged kidnapper and her boyfriend were taken into custody.
