crime-scene-tape-gloves.jpgThe St Elizabeth police suspect that the decomposing body of a female found close to Providence Housing Scheme in Santa Cruz this afternoon may be that of 48-year-old Barbara Findlay of nearby Beadles Boulevard and Kensington, England.

Findlay was reported missing last week.

Reports are that after detecting a foul smell, residents discovered the body in bushes close to the entrance of the Housing Scheme about 1:00 pm Wednesday and called the police.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said 48-year-old photographer Barbara Findley has been missing since Thursday, November 29.

She is from Beadles Drive at Santa Cruz in St Elizabeth, as well as Lupino Count in the Lambeth Walk area of Kensington in London.

She is of dark complexion and medium build.

The JCF said: "Reports from the Santa Cruz Police are that, about 9:30pm, Findley was last seen at home in St Elizabeth. Her mode of dress is unknown. All efforts to contact her have proven futile."

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Findley should contact the Santa Cruz Police at 876-966-2289, police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station.

Investigators say they are awaiting forensics to confirm the identity of the deceased as well to determine the cause of death.
