crime-scene-demo.jpgST ANN, Jamaica -- A 21-year-old man was stabbed to death by an angry mob in Mammee Bay, St Ann on Sunday, the police have reported.

The deceased has been identified as Akeem Harrison otherwise called 'Boysie' or 'Blacks', who the police said is of Marley District in St Ann and Red Hills Road in St Andrew.

Reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) are that, Harrison was attacked by the mod about 3:20 pm.

Reports are that Blacks attempted to flee the community after being accused of sexually assaulting a child there a week ago. Information is that the mother of the child confronted Harrison about the reported sexual assault, but the allegation was denied.

Harrison then reportedly decided to leave the community, but on Sunday at about 3:20 p.m., he was set upon, beaten and stabbed multiple times by an angry mob after being pointed out near Mammee Bay, St Ann. The police were alerted and on responding, found Harrison's lifeless body, which was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The St Ann police are again appealing to persons to desist from taking the law into their own hands, as they can be prosecuted for such acts. The police are conducting further investigations to locate Harrison's attackers.

The death came hours after the gruesome discovery of the body of 14-year-old Raven Wilson, a student of Ocho Rios High School, who was reported missing since Friday. The body was found in a garbage bag with wounds to the head in bushes close to her home in Top Road, St Ann's Bay in the parish.

The two killings on Sunday bring to 34 the number of homicides that have been recorded in the parish so far this year.
