The Ministry of Education is investigating last week's incident at the Duckenfield Primary School in St Thomas where students were given unprescribed pills by an unauthorized person. The students fell ill and were taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital last Friday.

Director of Safety and Security in Schools, Assistant Superintendent Coleridge Minto, says the Education Ministry is conducting the probe along with the police. He is expecting to get an update on the case today.

Eighteen students of Duckenfield Primary were taken to the hospital on the advice of the Ministry of Health. Another student was treated at a private medical facility.

Some of the children had symptoms with the most common being abdominal pain and drowsiness.
