safaree-vh1.jpg"#Safaree breaks the internet" screams a twitter post from BET TV. Move over Kim Kardashian and Dexta Daps, a new king is in town.

Jamaican rapper and reality TV show star Safaree is clearly having his own #metooman moment after a leaked photo and video of his eggplant on the internet sent global female fans in a frenzy. Those who saw it said it was a 'Big Deal!' Popular Jamaican dancehall DJ Dexta Daps had endured a similar fate some time ago when a nude photo of him leaked mysteriously.

But in the case of Safaree, the global stampede escalated to a shocking new level, pushing US President Donald Trump off the Internet radar. TMZ, Daily Mail, Bossip, Hollywood Gossip, Hip Hop Wired, In Touch Weekly, VH1 and Hot 97 all carried feature stories about the erotic nude pics. Twitter was flooded with thousands of posts, some ranging from disbelief, shock while others were downright funny.

TMZ posted "Safaree Samuels' weiner is trending!?!? Bossip wrote "Safari's mighty pum pum pulverizer is still bruising the internet's cervix." And a grey-haired granny looking like twice Safaree's age posted a one minute video clip pleading her case, "Don't think cause I'm old I can't handle it. One more for the road. ' Safaree call me when you want some of this old throwback."

Some questioned whether Safaree leaked his own nude pics as a publicity stunt. Seems plausible, given he dropped a new single 'Hunnid' that coincided with the release of the pics. Social media was not the only platform buzzing with excitement. Safaree was interviewed on the popular Breakfast Club with Charlamagne and the Steve Harvey radio program did a segment about his Anaconda which Nicki Minaj reportedly sang about in her song of the same name.

Irie Jam Radio, the loudest voice to Jamaicans in the Diaspora wanted in on the Safaree buzz.

"DJ Roy is on radio right now. We need to find Safaree immediately to talk about the media frenzy happening on social media with his career" Bobby Clake, head-honcho of Irie Jam Radio said.

Safaree got traction in the Jamaican diaspora just a few weeks ago after the Gleaner picked him as one of six Caribbean nationals in the Diaspora to watch in 2018. A few weeks later, he received his very first award - a Blue & Bougie Impact Award at Mingles Cafe in the Bronx.

"Seems like we honored Safaree two weeks too early" Jerry Mac of Blue & Bougie Inc declared. "Can you imagine the hysteria with the ladies inside Mingles Cafe if we had him this Sunday. That would be a good problem to have. We may need to book him right now" he said. And meanwhile, in Brooklyn, Hot Cocoa, a love coach, purred, "Move over Dexta Daps, Safaree just brought me a red rose and he's reeling out his long, long fire hose".

A curious fan who was inside Mingles Cafe for his appearance said "some people thought Safaree was boring, now he is making nuff girls horny."

Shockwaves from the Safaree internet thud could be felt 3,000 miles away in Negril, Jamaica where an inside source told this publication that a sexy Negril beach resort is considering extending an invitation for the rapper to vacation there with a bevy of beauties when he gets a break from the 'March madness' happening on social media right now.

With all the international publicity he has garnered in recent months, Safaree has stayed close to his Jamaican roots. His combination single with Sean Kingston was included on the #1 album this week on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart 'Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica." The TV star regularly gives exposure to Brand Jamaica on his VH1 Love & Hip Hop: NY TV show. Just weeks ago he also started an online petition on Changer.org, advocating for Rodney Pryce aka Bounty Killer to obtain a United States Work Visa. And not surprisingly, for last year, Safaree was named 2017 Sexiest Man of the Year.
