The Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) has taken three people into custody in relation to a probe it is carrying out into the operations of Prisoners for Christ Telemarketing Services, which has allegedly defrauded hundreds of prospective car owners.

The Corporate Area-based company attracted their clientele with a promise of being able to import motor vehicles for persons who make a down payment of $85,000 to $100,000. The victims made the dowpayments, but have now come forward to say that they were fleeced.

MOCA's operations have led to the seizure of several motor vehicles, more than J$1 million and US$1,813 in cash.

Disgruntled clients Prisoners for Christ Telemarketing Services have also seized computers and other equipment from the company. It said these devices contain material which could be used as evidence in the investigation. MOCA is urging persons in possession of the items to hand them over to its agency.
