security-minister-robert-montague.jpgNational Security Minister, Robert Montague, has said there is no truth to reports that there is a breakdown in the working relationship between himself and Police Commissioner, George Quallo.

"Myself and the commissioner, we are on the same page, we have one goal," Montague is reported to have said

The minister and police commissioner gave responses to public concerns on the matter following the handing-over of pins to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) to mark the organisation's 150th anniversary.

Police Commissioner Quallo, in his response, shared similar sentiments.

"Absolutely no issue; I have no problem," the commissioner said, indicating that both himself and the minister were committed to tackling the country's challenging crime problem.

Montague denied reports that he asked Quallo to resign following a meeting between the two men on Monday.

The meeting was held to discuss the commissioner's report on the New Year's Day traffic jam on the Palisadoes Road in East Kingston, which significantly affected operations at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA).
