Rhimes, who is best known as the creator, head writer and executive producer of the television medical drama Grey's Anatomy tweeted "I am clearly going to need some Miss Jamaica dolls for my daughters. So they can play with a doll that shows them they are fully EVERYTHING the universe ever needed."

Sporting her signature afro, Bennett dazzled in a buttercup yellow evening gown swelling the hearts of Jamaicans worldwide with pride.

Bennett emerged from a field of 92 contestants to become only the second Jamaican beauty to crack the top three at Miss Universe joining Yendi Phillipps, who finished one spot higher, second place, in 2010.

Many Jamaicans has since responded to Rhimes' tweet suggesting a wide array of dolls that girls of colour can identify with and be proud of.
