Cops have strong lead in shooting of 8 persons in Farm, Clarendon

crime-scene-demo.jpgThe Clarendon police say they are following strong leads in Sunday night's shooting of eight persons in the community of Farm.

One of the victims, a woman, died.

She has been identified as 37 year old Lacia Mantack, a hairdresser of Evans Avenue in Farm.

The other seven persons, including a five year old girl, have been hospitalised.

About 6 o'clock, the individuals were among spectators who had just left a football match.

The group stopped at a shop when gunfire came from the direction of bushes.

The injured persons were taken to hospital, where Ms Mantack succumbed to her injuries.

The attackers escaped.

Kemps Hill murder

In the meantime, the Clarendon police were later called to another murder scene in Kemps Hill.

They found the body of 22 year old Mikhail Mitchell with bullet wounds.

Reports are that shortly before 9 o'clock, the police went to Mr. Mitchell's house where his body was found on the verandah.

No motive has been established for the killing.
