The announcement was made by the company's head of marketing, Blandine Jean-Paul Reid at the local launch of Reggae Sumfest, held at Usain Bolt's Tracks and Records in St Andrew last week."This will be done via a special promotion that will send these lucky Red Stripe lovers from the US market to the week-long festival in Montego Bay," she said.

The 25th anniversary of Reggae Sumfest is scheduled for July 16-22 at Catherine Hall Entertainment Complex in Montego Bay, St James.

Also speaking at the launch was Josef Bogdanovich, chairman of Summerfest Promotions -- promoters of Reggae Sumfest, who said this year's staging will be superb and will once again attract a large international audience to the island.

"The festival continues to grow and this year will be spectacular. In addition to live entertainment, we will also be having a food court among other things. We will be competing with other festivals around the world," he said.

For the second consecutive year, the festival will feature only reggae and dancehall acts. This is a departure from the practice of previous years of including major international acts, predominantly from the R&B or hip hop genres, to boost the offering.

The launch attracted dozens of the entertainment fraternity members including Beenie Man, Ninja Man, Harry Toddler, and Richie Stephens.
