Kartel pays tribute to Shorty in new song

kartel-and-shorty.jpgPopcaan recently released a song which he dedicated to his Trini Girlfriend and now Vybz Kartel has followed suit and has reaffirmed his love for his baby mother by dedicating a song to her.

Tanesha "Shorty" Johnson is Kartel's longtime partner who has stood bu his side through the thick and thin. The upcoming single is entitled "I'm So Sorry."

Meanwhile, it has become obvious that Kartel's seemingly endless supply of new music has been slowed down a bit due to an ongoing investigation by the correctional department into allegations that he has been recording music in prison. Sources told DHH that the incarcerated deejay will still be putting out new music from his large catalog of unreleased material.

This song "I'm So Sorry" is expected to be released in the next couple of days on Shorty's label Short Boss Muzik. Vybz Kartel's social media activities have also come to a halt with the recent clampdown in prison. Sources told us that his wife is responsible for what is post on his social media accounts under his directive. Vybz Kartel is working on an upcoming album due by summer this year. His team previously announced that they could release as much as a thousand new songs this year alone. While that is unlikely, it paints a picture of the number of songs they have in the arsenal.

Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, was born 7 January 1976 at Kingston's Victoria Jubilee Hospital and was one of six children Originally from Waterhouse, Kingston, he grew up in Waterford district of society Portmore Adidja attended Calabar High School in Kingston , but was expelled as a teenager determined to continue his education he completed his studies at a tutorial technical school.
Vybz Kartel is currently serving a life sentence in a maximum security prison for a murder conviction.
