crime-scene-7.jpgThe driver responsible for last Friday's crash in Clarendon in which 23 students were injured has been charged.

Clovis Duncan, who fled the scene of the accident, turned himself in to the May Pen police on Sunday. He has since been charged for failing to report an accident, dangerous driving, operating without insurance and operating without PPV license. He is scheduled to make an appearance in court on Wednesday to answer to the charges.

The Toyota Hiace mini bus transporting Garvey Maceo students was being driven by Duncan when it collided with a taxi and flipped several times along the Vernamfield main road in Clarendon sometime after 9 o'clock Friday morning.

A 15-year-old student, who sustained serious injuries, had to be transferred to the University Hospital of the West Indies where he remains in intensive care.
