Sean Paul inks deal with Island

sean-paul-photo-6.jpgBillboard chart topper Sean Paul continues to make major moves after securing his most recent number one with single titled Cheap Thrills with Sia. The recording artiste has inked a global deal with Island Records, a label associated with reggae music and the Caribbean.

The multi-album deal will see the Jamaica-born artist and producer release future works on the Universal-owned label in both the U.K. and the U.S. This deal brings an end to his brief run as an independent artist, and follows the end of his decade-long partnership with Atlantic Records.

Sean Paul is busy working on music with a new single expected in November.

He has also done a remix of Tory Lanez's song called Luv which will be released in September. Luv features a sample of Tanto Metro and Devonte's single Everyone Falls In Love. Sean Paul will also put out another single called Crick Neck, which features Chi Ching Ching.

He revealed that Colombian singer Shakira is working with a producer from Jamaica to create a dancehall inspired single of her own.
