The historic Cathedral of St Jago de la Vega, situated at the corner of Barrett Street and Red Church Street in Spanish Town will host the church service.

Born and raised in Spanish Town, Mr Downer, an entrepreneur, died at a hospital on August 9th from injuries he sustained after being hit by a motor vehicle on the Old Harbour Main Road in St Catherine. Mr Downer, who was 70 years old, has been hailed as a loving, supportive father to his four daughters, Nadine, Joan, Peta-Gaye and Michelle, who have said in a joint statement that he was "a wonderful father who was fun to be around; an honorable man, and a blessing to all who came in contact with him". He was remembered as the father who took the decision to stay in Jamaica in order to be close to his daughters, rather than migrate to Canada, as his other siblings had done.

In announcing the funeral arrangements for her father, D'Angel took time to point out that it is with a deep sense of pride and humility that she has been chosen to live her father's dream.

"My father always wanted to be a singer, but he shied away from the spotlight, so he was immensely proud that I took the baton from him - in a sense - and he was able to realize that dream through me," she explained.

D'Angel also expressed her heartfelt thanks to the music fraternity and her co-workers who have been supporting her in her time of grief.

The internment for Noel 'Clive' Downer will be held at Dovecot.
