peter-tosh-photo-2.jpgReports are that an anonymous member of Peter Tosh family have allegedly pawned the singer's Grammy Award and his guitar.

According to US website,TMZ, Peter Tosh's 1987 Grammy for Best Reggae Recording and one of his Martin acoustic guitars now belongs to Dylan McDermitt of LBC Pawn in Somerville, Massachusetts.

Reports are that, about five months ago, a Tosh family member went into the store to pawn the items. TMZ claims McDermitt jumped at the opportunity and snatched the Grammy for $4k and the guitar for $2k more.

It is understood that the relative was pawning the items due to a family battle over the Peter Tosh's estate. Both Niambe and Dave Tosh have so far not commented on the matter.

Recently, chairman of Pulse Investments, Kingsley Cooper has activated plans to open a museum that will honour the lifeworks of Peter Tosh with fascinating Tosh memorabilia and artifacts. Cooper has since signed a landmark agreement in New York City with Tosh's daughter, Niambe McIntosh who signed on behalf of the Peter Tosh Estate.

Peter Tosh was shot and killed in 1987. He did not have a will.
