Singer Anthony Cruz is to headline the South Coast Rum Food and Music Festival, a day and night event set for July 23 at Tiger Market Lawn, Manchester Avenue, in May Pen, Clarendon.

Stephanie Elliott, the producer of the festival and CEO of Compass Communication, said it's the most exciting of her three years doing major shows due to the worldwide interest, mostly from Europe.

"Europeans take special delight in Jamaican culture and we recognise from our conversation with them that we needed to customise our product to suit their demand for everything Jamaican. We still want corporate Jamaica to better receive and respond more timely to our sponsorship requests," she said.

As for the lineup, supporting Cruz will be Payne 'Pretty Dunce' Mendez and a number of entertainers and artiste from Clarendon.

On display will be Maroon and Jamaican-Indian culture.

"Talent abounds in Clarendon and we'll need more than a day to highlight this but so far we are pleased with the progress made and we will be delivering the best of the south, its rums, foods and culture to the people of Jamaica and the world," Elliott said.
