reggae-sumfest-logo.jpgDJ Omar aka Omizzle, has captured a high energy Reggae Sumfest vibe in his current spin on the Festival's mix tape now being distributed island wide. He was contracted by DownSound Entertainment (DSE), producers of the 2016 festival, to provide a compilation of music from artistes performing on Dancehall Night, July 22 and Reggae Night, July 23.

DJ Omar says he has been the mix tape man since high school days."I've been working with DownSound since 2012. I did the dancehall and reggae mix CDs in May. All of the artistes on Sumfest 2016 are on it. I've done mixed CDs for Ishawna, Harry Toddler, Nature and I have mixed tapes different from DownSound work - always hot tracks."

The Reggae Sumfest mix tapes have conjured up a vibe of excitement amongst members of the public in recent weeks. This, according to DSE was the aim of the promotional CD. The tapes are available on and are distributed at local events and in the streets leading up to the Festival.

The transformed Reggae Sumfest kicks off in Montego Bay with a Beach Party at the Aqua Sol Theme Park on Sunday, July 17 hosted by Miss Kitty and Yanique 'The Curvy Diva' Barrett. The All White Party hits Pier 1 on Tuesday, July 19; and the Sound Explosion - where anything can happen - with Tony Matterhorn and Firelinks along with the island's top sound systems, takes place on Thursday, July 21, also at Pier 1. Dancehall Night revs up on the Friday at Catherine Hall with the big Reggae Night to close the curtains on Saturday, July 23.
