bahamas-junkano-festival.jpgThe Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival is described as the perfect dose of Music, Culture, and Vibes and it takes place April 15-16, 2016 in Grand Bahama and May 6, 2016 in Nassau. The inaugural event last year, drew a crowd of 50,000 strong, and it would be no surprise if this year's event surpasses that.

The carnival promises non-stop live entertainment day and night with the best Bahamian musicians and their contemporaries from across the Caribbean and the around the world. According to the organisers, "If you love music, plan to attend the Carnival Kick Off from April 15-16, 2016 in Grand Bahama, where contestants in the Junkanoo Carnival Music Masters Song Competition will compete in a semi-final concert at Taino Beach. After Grand Bahama, get ready to amp up the music once again at the Music Masters Mega Concert on Friday, May 6, 2016 in Nassau."

The top 10 contestants will compete on the mega stage, alongside featured artists from around the world.

Road Fever Street Party

Road Fever is the signature street party of Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival. Held on Saturday, May 6, it will see thousands of costumed revellers flood the streets to jump and wine and party through the streets. Join in the fun by ordering a costume with a registered Road Fever company (See listing on website) and #jumpindaline. Road Fever is all about the vibes. Each costume section has a travelling bar and a roving deejay that rides along the route, ensuring the vibes are always turned up. And there's a bonus, Road Fever companies have non-stop parties along the road to carnival.
