popcaan-photo-4.jpgOpposition leader Andrew Holness used his official Twitter account on Sunday to tweet "please be advised that PopCaan did not record a song for the JLP".

This after a song by PopCaan was spliced to endorse the Jamaica Labour Party.

It is not known if Holness' action was engineeered by his PR team or by PopCaan's management team.

Late last year, Andrew Holness used PopCaan's line "A whey you get dah new Clarks deh dadi" from the infectious 2010 track Clarks featuring Vybz Kartel and Vanessa Bling.

Since the announcement of the 2016 general election, both political parties have been using reggae and dancehall music to strengthen or enhance their respective campaigns.
